    Very simple commenting sytem needed

Firstly, apologies if this is in the wrong section, but I wasn't sure where to post it.

I'm using blogger and want a very simple comments system, as blogger's own doesn't offer customization.

I've searched long and hard and can't believe their isn't something that gives me what I want.

All I want is for my comments page (accessed via a link) to have a simple form featuring three fields; Name, Email, Comments. I'm not talking about a feedback form here, I'm referring to a system that displays the comments on the page once the user has hit the submit button.

I'm not bothered about a comment counter, avatars, smilies, video embedding and all the other nonsense that comes with most commenting systems. I just want a form that allows visitors to leave their views on the site. An old fashioned guestbook would do, but I've not been able to find one that will allow full customization and the ability to embedd the form in my page (as opposed to the pop-up or re-direct method)

    Thanks in advance.

I'm guessing you cannot do your own PHP scripting with blogger.
That means you can't create your own scripts for a simple comment system.

It has to be PHP and you have to have the permission to upload and execute the scripting.
On top of that, you have to have access to the database where comments are kept.

I've never used blogger, but it seems to me like you won't be able to do it.
This is why people get their own websites, their own webhost accounts and
install WordPress. It becomes your own website (not someone else's).
For about $40 per year, it's not very expensive, and you get your own domain name.

Thank you, mlsein. Sorry I couldn't respond to this before you answered, but I've managed to find a great 3rd party comment system.

Sorry, mlseim, that was rude of me to not consider it. The one I'm using can be found here and is wonderfully simple and has full customization via CSS.
