    Absolute Positioning vs. Relative

During my browsing through the forums, I see people mostly saying to stay away from absolute positioning. I am just curious why that would be? What are the benefits to each?

There are no added advantages for either and there is no reason one should stay away from absolute positioning. Each has their purpose in certain situations and no one should ever avoid either for any reason. I haven't a clue why anyone would say that.

Absolute position only hits you if you don’t know how to properly use it and/or what actually happens when you position somethin absolutely. It’s a little complicated to explain, though, so search the internet for tutorials about that.
