make a point on web page ?

People are getting here quite a lot:
    http://agrozoo.net/jsp/Galery.jsp?l2=en

But they ignore green stripe. I don't want to put there flashy jumpy things, to make a point.

    Any suggestion ?

Make it more present. Make room, leave it some space to “breathe”. Currently everything is so crowded.

Also, use some subtle graphical effects to make objects stand out more. Currently your site background is so busy that it detracts from the important things (or things you think should be important like the search). A plain white background (or another light color that matches the site’s subject/theme) would help much more to find what a person is looking for. By using that green box you already used a graphical effect that makes the box stand out. However, it’s not the hint that should stand out but the search box.

Graphical effects can be a different background color (think of complementary colors), a gradient over a flat color, a drop shadow, and other things in combination. For example the combination of room/space with an object that has a different (complementary) color and/or a drop shadow makes that object totally stand out as something important.

The trick is to use effects wisely and sparingly but exactly in the right amount to not be too blunt. Although not spcific to website design I’ve learned a lot from Vector Dos and Don’ts (page 4 and 6 may be the most important for your case) and the article about Color on iStockphoto.

Ok, sorted out things a bit. Search button is now more visible, but not disturbing, but it is to close to header stuff.

How would I visualy separate header stuff. Whatewer I try it comes out ugly. Any suggestion ?
