I don't know if it is appropriate to post this here but i will and admins and mods, please don't ban me if i break the rules. This is my first post so bare with me.

    Look at this site:

    http://fantasy.cricket.com/

I wan't to make a site exactly like that and have been trying since a very long time but i am not able to. Although the site above is fantasy in cricket, i want a website exactly the same like above except fantasy in basketball. For the feeds, i can get the news feeds and others like there are in that site but i need functional site like that. Can you please help?

Looking at their CSS file, I found this:
    CSS on Sails .NET
    Title: Website
    Author: XHTMLized
    Date: July 2008

So I Googled it, this must be the source:
    http://www.cssonsails.com/

That's where their site originate from.
They probably bought the template and scripting?

    Here's an idea ...
Email the cricket site owner and ask them about their site.
Most site owners would be happy to let you know where they purchased
their templates, or if they coded everything themselves.

You can copy all of their HTML and CSS and Javascripting by using the "view, source"
functions of your browser. The only thing you can't copy is any PHP or MySQL scripting.
So, you can match their look, but probably not the functioning, unless you purchase
the same scripts, or hire your own programmer.

I really suggest you come-up with your own design though.
Not much challenge or fun in just copying someone else ....
not to mention that's is not really ethical.

    That was helpful, mlseim.

The thing is that i want to have the same website like that. The design and looks can be different but i want the same functionality and the features such as add friends, create a team, write on wall, latest news feed, fantasy money, etc. You can check em in the site but can you help me on how to create this site?

If they are using any PHP, MySQL, or ASP (server-side programming),
there's nothing we can do ... because we don't have any access to their database,
or any of the scripting they have.

Looks like a really big project to me. I think you'll have to hire someone.
There's a section on this forum for "web projects".

offcource they are running PHP... If they have those add friend, wall, teams etc - they must have php and mysql pages that you will miss in your copying life But everything is simple to make by your own... Without AJAX, that would be peace a cake

Do you have a website made yet, with the layout and graphics?
Do you have everything done except for the PHP/MySQL functionality?
Show us what you already have done.

I designed my website in Microsoft Expression 3. It works perfectly with Google Chrome but has css problems in Internet Explorer.

You have not uploaded anything yet?
We have no way to see anything?

I suggest you find a pre-made script, even if you have to pay for it,
then, design your site around the script:
    http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=...a7f77472646fa5

Auriaks thinks it will be easy to duplicate the Cricket scripts, but it won't be easy.
It will cost you money to hire a programmer. It would take a lot of time.

Try your hardest to contact the owner of the Cricket site (I couldn't find an email).
Ask them what scripts they are using. I'm sure they would share that info with you.
