Image Text vs Text for Navigation

    Hi all,

I know its not good practice to use purely images for navigation buttons. I always try to use an image background with a hyperlink for the text.

However, for those occations where text is required on the image itself (e.g. using a non-websafe font), is there a way of also having the hyperlink also, but only 'visible' to screen readers etc

If the image is inside of the anchor tag, you can use the alt attribute on the image to indicate what the text says in the image.

You might also interested in an image based navigation with text-indents, see an example at http://andrislinz.ch/how-to-use-imag...avigation-menu
