    Looking for some advice on website concept!

    www.whateverbabe.com

    The idea is simple, its similar to FML and MLIA. What Im having trouble with is finding a suitable script/open source project to run it. Anyone have any ideas?

    Ive tried drupal, and siteframe and they just seem to be a pain in the ***.

    Thanks

    Maybe, just maybe, if you gave us a basic idea, (for the benefit of those who have better things to do with their time than use those sites you mention), of what you actually need the scripts to do, you may get some usable suggestions.

    What I'd need the scripts to do (not opposed to coding them myself, am learning PHP/MYSQL at the moment) is:

    -User Submits Post (that script is already written, just have to have it posted to database)
    -Email Notification is sent (already coded into php file)
    Heres where the fun part comes in:
    -Have some sort of CMS site that lets you log in, and shows posts off of the above database. (im talking real simple, one page, nothing fancy, just to display submissions)
    -On that site there will be a deny, approve, and edit. The edit will edit it and save it on the database. The deny will delete it from the database, and the approve will copy it to a new database or another table on that database.
    -That new database/table will hold all the accepted posts.
    -On the home page, some sort of script to display the database with the approved posts.

    Thanks!

    I recommend a status code in your table that indicates the status of each post-- submitted, approved, denied, etc. Rather than moving posts around to different tables, which is inefficient and kludgy.

    Thanks for the advice.

    How would you recommend I go about posting the database info onto the home page?

    You already mentioned PHP so I assumed you'd use that.

    Run a query on the DB to select N amount of approved items and loop through to display the output. Along the lines of:

    Code:
    $sql = [DB select code];

    while ($cur = *sql_fetch_assoc($sql))
    {
        [generate your output from the current result set]
    }
