Looking for free, no ads hosting

I used to run my own photography business, long story short, I closed the business. Anyway, I used to use a paid hosting company for my website. Since it is now personal, I can't afford to pay for hosting services, but I do intend on keeping my domain. I also have a blog. I would like to find a free no-ad hosting service that allows you to use your own domain (not a subdomain xxxx.hostingcompany.com). Of course, I understand that with a free hosting company, you get what you pay for, but it would still be nice to find a good company.

    Hello rosey67,
The sites you link to in that hosting link seem to be dedicated hosting. There are some very reasonable prices for shared hosting out there.
Have a look at these search results.

I'm not sure what's available as far as free hosting but I imagine there could be some that are worth the price... I'll bet most are not.

    I recommend www.freehostia.com

They allow free domain hosting. The only caveat is you need to be sure to renew your hosting every year. It is free but to avoid losing files just renew before your hosting expires. Many free hosts don't allow mail() to work but they do give you a database and ftp account.

    Rosey ...
Not sure how much you used to spend, but you can find some for about $40 per year!
That's what, about 15 cents per day?

    Something like: www.cleverdot.com

Honestly, why bother with free hosting ?? For only a few $4-8 a month you can have unlimited shared hosting account from major host, safe reliable hosting.
The speed and room are vital for photography hosting. Free hosting=pain.
