    search engine for site

I need to make a website for a large amount of pdf files, which can be found via search.

I am fairly new to html and don't really know where to start. How do I index these pdf's and make a search for them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

I had a similar problem, solved using javascript.

This site of mine is the result.

It should be easy to put your pdf's in place of my lists.

jquery.js and jqueryhighlght js are the two scripts used together with the form for the search term.

EDIT: This was some of the help given to me.

    Highlighting search terms with javascript

Just a quick whizz around Google got me this link, http://www.nsftools.com/misc/SearchAndHighlight.htm

Seems like it could be very helpful to your cause. just a quick view source should get you what you need!

If you struggle let me know and I will grab the code for you.

Thanks fpt. This wasn't quite what I had in mind, but I think it should work.

I'll give it a try. I'll come asking for help if I run into trouble.

    Hello,

Anyone tell me how can I calculate the code to text ratio with example? I search for this, I find some examples but not getting the idea how they are calculated.
