Could someone point me in the right direction?

    Hello all,

I've been a freelance web designer as a hobby for a while now, but most of my clients have only needed informative website with zero functionality. But recently, I have been using various freeware code to allow certain basic interactivity.

I do not know any code besides basic HTML but here is the dilemma:

I am creating a site for a recording studio that wants to be able to upload .mp3's of their clients work on a day-to-day basis, while at the same time password protecting that file so that the client can have a unique password to download their finished .mp3.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for some good (and hopefully not too difficult) code or something that will allow me to implement this functionality within the design of the website?

I have done some searching, but I thought that an informed person might be able to point me in the right direction.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Most coding that you download and use will be under the GPL license. You must leave their name and all on it to use it, you cannot sell it either.

It would be best to cancel the job, or ask to put it off to a later date and learn how to code. It doesn't take years to learn stuff. Or you can let a third party code it for you, and you add a little extra to the cost for your self. So it'd be outsourced or subcontracted.

You will need the higher priced multi user version! (10$ instead of $5!)

Not necessarily. A lot of code out there that is free to use can be sold in your own projects as long as you leave the credits.

About biglickmedia. They have been known to take scripts from other sites that are often free and then sell them. I remember one time a user came to the forums saying the readme in the script they purchased told them to get support here. That same script is actually free and available on www.hotscripts.com. As a matter of fact I think its the same one linked in the above post.

    Smile It is free....

This script is available free, until 2005 it was fully supported, then the group involved dropped it, These guys have picked it up with the blessing of the developer and it is currently theirs.
The script is available free, just the one that enables the poster to have many different users and lefels of file access is not, however, it is $10, I would not even hand code a "contact us" form for that! so it is a great deal.
