    visual Interdev Site Management!

    hi,

Normally I'm using Front Page/ Dreamweaver for web development in Collaborative Envinronment, but now intend to use Visual Interdev, but I found that there has no "indication" to warn that the particular files are "editing" by somebody else, so cannot be "check out" for editing or Check In for overwritting the files.

what I'm intend to do is, there has a Local Machine which serve as "Production" site and all of our team member have thier own "development" site, whenever they want to edit the file, first they have to get the latest copy from the master web (check out)and check in )copy back to the maste web after editing.

Does it because of the source control?? I don't have have it installed, when can I get it.
    Please advice!

    Visual interdev

is an application development tool. Not a site maintenance tool.

    last post from me

Taken from the following site - http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...alinterdev.asp

Microsoft® Visual InterDev™ is a Web development tool designed for programmers who want to create:

Data-driven Web applications using a data source supported by ODBC or OLE DB, such as the database management systems from Microsoft.

Broad-reach Web pages using HTML and script in Web applications that take advantage of the latest advances in browser technology, such as Microsoft® Internet Explorer 4.0, Dynamic HTML and multimedia features.

Robust development environment with a Scripting Object Model, design-time controls (DTCs), and an extensible toolbox for rapid design, testing, and debugging of your pages.

Web teams that can develop pages in isolation and maintain ready access to a master version, or teams that include nonprogrammers who work on the master version through Microsoft® FrontPage®.

Integrated solutions that can include applets or components created in Microsoft® Visual Basic®, Visual C++®, Visual J++™, and Visual FoxPro®.

    ENDS...
Stick with FP for site maintenance and use this tool for the clever stuff.
