    Question simple database... recommendations?

OK dunno where exactly in these forums this belongs lol but I thought I would pick your brains

I am after a very simple program that will enable me to input some people and their details (custom details) while I am using other programs/on the phone etc.

For instance if I am talking to someone on the web and want to note down their nickname, real name, etc. and later need to find it again easily, say by simply sorting by nickname/real name.

I could easily use Excel, but it's too big. Access is just a pain in the @$$ - I may as well get out VB and code my own program. I am simply wondering if anyone knows of any freeware/shareware out there that would do this simple job

Oh yeah and Windows Address Book is not suitable because it's rubbish lol!

I have over 2000 contacts basically entered into notepad so far lol

    Ideas...?
