Hi iv'e only just learnt CSS and all that jazz, but from what i can see it looks like dreamweaver isn't reading you stylesheet, have you made sure that the file in dreamweaver is in the same place as your stylesheet, otherwise it will not be able to read it.

So lets say you call a folder website, in this folder should be both your index.html and your style.css, this should then work.

But i never trust the design view in dreamweaver anyways, mainly due to the amount of php i use, dreamweaver doesn't pick everything up! but i am sure what i have stated above should be the problem..

    Hope this helped m8

My HTML and CSS file are in the same file and the CSS is linked in the HTML so that's fine, it's just Dreamweaver shows it wrong.

Dreamweaver's a pretty bad rendering browser IMO. I don't trust at all what I see in Dreamweaver, I always check all browsers first and not worry what I see in Dreamweaver. Hopefully with CS4 they'll improve it, but right now I just don't trust it. It's great for everything else though and I wouldn't build sites w/o it.

I agree as well: Dreamweaver is not a browser! Hand code your sites and only trust the results in actual browsers since that’s eventually where people look at it. The design view of the latest version of Dreamweaver is pretty good in rendering pages but still, it’s not to be trusted. Don’t bother if it’s loking wrong there, that doesn’t necessarily have to say anything.

Dreamweaver in browser preview isnt an exact render of the browser render engine.
