    Free web hosting, unlimited MySQL

Do you know a great web host, where you can host your own domain and have unlimited MySQL space, too?

www.freehostia.com is super cheap. http://www.freehostia.com/free_hosting.html. I doubt that anywhere you will find unlimited mySQL, but freehostia has 1 free db included in the plan. I don't know anywhere with free domains though. A few sites claim to have free domains but you have to sign up to their site for $5/month, or the free domain is just a "trial offer". Freehostia is great value though, no doubt about it.

You can get unlimited MySQL at webhostingpad, and everything else is unlimited.

Sorry, I didn't remember that when I was writing, I only referred to his question.

This host doesn't have unlimited mysql but it has enough resources for any site. It is http://www.vlexo.com. I am administrator of it and IMO it is the overall best free web host.
    Not much, but its something.

If you want good hosting then you have to spend some money to get quality hosting like from BlueHost or WebHostingPad.

Free means you'll get what you pay for.

1849WebHosting has fast servers and is low cost - they have very robust shared and VPS hosting plans.

Can I clear this up: You can't get a .com/ .co.uk ect.. domains, unlimited databases ect.. for free.
Pay those pennies. No matter how hard you will look, you shall find none.

Most are just 'pay nothing until we decide you must pay'.

I don't mean to be rude, but how can you possibly expect a web service to provide you with unlimited resources (even if it's just MySQL space) on servers that THEY pay for, using bandwidth/data transfer that THEY pay for, absolutely free? I know you want something for nothing, but try to get over that and pay a reasonable price for a reasonable product. You can find shared web hosting for dirty cheap these days - in many cases, less than $20 a year.

And BTW, there is no such thing as unlimited.

    Hmm
Welcome to the first and only - user donations supported free web hosting service.
I wonder if this is something that will work out for them, considering their users don't want to pay for hosting? I guess if they get a community of people who like it and offer up money.

It still stands that this host is very unlikely to offer you a reliable service if they are donation based.

Besides, I don't know what you need this site for, but I don't think its wise or fair to expect everything is free. I use a fair amount of open source software, but I help provide support or develop with them. I would think that you should try to offer some kind of help back, that is how this whole system works.

And your domain is still going to cost you, they will just add it to your account for free.
