    what is joomla

What is the purpose of joomla , Does anyone used it before.

Someone told me that with joomla it will be very easy for me to build websites for clients which otherwise takes too much time. Is that correct

If not , what softwares , library should i used which can mhelp making simple websites very faster . Currently i have to code every html line and it takes too much time

I am just talking about simple catalouge based sites e,g clients have few products to list and that thing.

I use it a lot. Its a CMS...like it says on its site. It helps you to manage content, not develop a site. I spent a lot more time setting up the original site for a business because they wanted to be able to edit things themselves.

www.joomla.org, its got everything you need to know.

If you need a catalog, there are catalog scripts out there. Joomla has some extensions that can integrate with Virtuemart.

It depends on what types of pages you are making. If you are making larger scale sites a CMS might be helpful, especially if they want to edit things. If you are just making a site with a one-time development, probably not in most situations.

Code is art, it takes time!

I want to make site for person who is English teacher . So he may want to edit his details
what he teaches at all that.

Will joomla be helpful in that case ?

Be more specific. If it is small details, then no. If the person is planning on setting up a site for the class to use which will have frequently updating content, then possibly.

The learning curve for Joomla is something to take note of though. Its not overly difficult, but to learn how to customize and manage a site with it takes some practice.
