    Creating An Online Portfolio

Hi all. I've been racking my brains for the past couple of days on how to create the site that I want.

Basically, what I intend to create is a website dedicated to Photoshopped Images. Was originally going to start life as just edited cars and tutorials, but has since decided other things will be there aswell.

Anyway, I've tried Joomla 1.5, but that is a long way of doin it. For every user that signs up, I have to create them a catagory where they can post to. I also have to make them an Author. And there's no restrictions as to where they post to. (so in theory, User A, could post an article under User B's catagory). I'd also have to verify each article before it goes live.

I've also looked into Coppermine, but that's not what I want. One, I don't want images hosted on my server, users will upload to photobucket, flickr etc. And secondly, it doesn't offer enough for me.

Also looked into phpNuke and various other things I have to my disposal. But all don't or can't do what I want, or I don't know how

Anyway, as a last result tonight, I instaled Joomla 1.0.15 as there is a component that you can install so that each user can be restricted to only being able to post articles to their specific catagory. Anyway, after changing all the permissions to get this installed, it still wont install. I cannot get back into the admin panel either due to these changes (which I expected from some of the bad reports about this mod - the reports were 50/50 good and bad).

So, I guess my question is; does anyone know any software or a route I should try to achieve what I want? I hope I was clear in what I wanted.

BTW: these are the 2 test sites I've got for it
    http://www.spirewebsolutions.co.uk/chopfolio
    http://www.spirewebsolutions.co.uk/chopfolio2

I'm liking the 2nd one. Just needing something where a user can register and then pretty much start posting up their work without me having to do too much.

Anyway, off to bed soon, hope to get some positive replies.

    Cheers,

    Mat

Well if it already setup with php, then a simple php statement during submittal to make sure the author is submitting to the appropriate place should do the trick.

Wasn't sure if wordpress would do the trick. I'll give that a shot. Can you restrict members on there to posting to certain places only? I use it as my blog, and on another site I set up, they uise if for their news
