    help with inserting quicktime in website..

    Hi I have been asked to insert a quicktime movie in this website. What I want to do is replace the little orange flash movie with the horse and the man and put in a quicktime movie.

    I have studied apples website and tried the following:

    Put this in my head section:
    Code:
    <script src="[path]/InsertMovie.js" language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript"></script>
    Saved a separate java script file with this:
    Code:
    function InsertSampleMovie()
    {
    document.write(<object classid="clsid: 02BF25D5..." ...>\n);
    document.write(<param name="src" value="sample.mov" />\n);
    document.write(</object>\n);
    }
    And then inserted this on the spot where the old flashmovie was:
    Code:
    <script language="JavaScript"type="text/javascript" >InsertSampleMovie();</script>
    I have not made this site and it seems kinda messy.

    Can someone help me please...

    It just doesnt show up! I mean there is a lot of java script on the site and maybe it all gets mixed up or something....

    I don't think I should use the object tag to insert the java code. So I just insert it into the div where I want it to show... but no show...

    Am I missing something here?

    The javascript was used to get rid of the click to activate thing in IE. I would convert the quicktime movie to .flv format then use a flash video player and then use SWFObject to put it on the page.
    FLV Encoder
    FLV Media Player
    SWFObject
    The 2.0 version is out but its a little more complicated than the 1.5 version.

    Then post what you've done on the site. Its obvious you are doing something wrong.

    The thing is that I have not done anything. Apart from trying to put the film in. If you look at the source code there is a happy mix of all sorts of things in the code, like java script ,css, tabular data, etc. I sort of don't want to tidy it up as I am doing this as a favour and want to spend as little time as possible on it.

    I think however the problem might be that there is too much java so that the activeX doesn't know what to choose to run.. I know very little about these sort of things though.

    The movie is up and working though:see here but just not in the site!!

    Sighs. Okay then what is your problem? We can't help you if you choose not to implement what you've tried, meaning try to put the film in AGAIN and then show us the updated site.

    Ok the way it looks now is that I have tried to put it in a<div> I have colored the java I have put in in indigo. But now nothing shows up. I have somewhat managed to insert it using the object tags (not made it play though), but then it is said that that wont work anymore in IE. I don't know what else to write...

    Code:
    <div id="col2">
        <div class="feature">

          <script language="JavaScript"type="text/javascript" >InsertSampleMovie();</script>

          <h3><br />
          <img src="fotos/small/horse_miguel2.jpg" alt="" width="260" height="176" /><span class="Estilo1"><strong>Pura Pasi&oacute;n. <br />
          Arte equestre.</strong></span></h3>
          <p class="Estilo1"> Pura Pasi&oacute;n es el espect&aacute;culo ecuestre que une la armon&iacute;a, la pasi&oacute;n y el respeto entre el hombre y el caballo, fusionando dos culturas en homenaje a Al-Andalus, protagonista de "Pura Pasi&oacute;n". </p>
          <p class="Estilo1">A trav&eacute;s de su director art&iacute;stico <strong>Miguel Barrionuevo</strong> en colaboraci&oacute;n del reconocido core&oacute;grafo Thom&eacute; Araujo, Pura Pasi&oacute;n nos trasladara a un mundo lleno de sensibilidad entre el hombre y el caballo, disfrutando de la complicidad de movimientos entre bailaoras y caballos, al comp&aacute;s de m&uacute;sica creada por el compositor Juan Soto exclusivamente para esta historia. </p>
          <p class="Estilo1">Podremos asistir a un espect&aacute;culo donde hombre, caballos, bailaoras, sonido e iluminaci&oacute;n se funden en un solo concepto creando algo mas que un espect&aacute;culo. </p>
          <p class="Estilo1"><strong>Al-Andalus</strong>  </p>
        </div>
      </div>
