    Page Rank Question

I have a site with a page rank of 1. My friend has a site with a page rank of 2. His site has been unplugged. Both our sites are related to the same subject. My question is if I purchase his domain name and I do a 301 redirect to my domain will my page rank increase to 3 or 2 or have no change?

    Thanks in advance

It's not as simple as that. PageRank isn't a simple adding game, but rather a complex algorithm taking into account the linking structure of a vast number of pages. Added to which is the fact that the PageRank you see in your toolbar is only tenuously connected to Google's actual PageRank score for a given page.

You also need to consider how long the domain has expired for.
Google may also have removed any assigned PageRank to the domain by now. Assuming that's not the case, and you buy and redirect the domain, I'd anticipate a toolbar PR increase to 2 at the next update - excluding any other effects.

wrong. google don't accept redirection from one domain to other.

    1. decide what domain have the best name and keep it
    2. move from both domain your best content to this domain
    3. give another destination to the domain left empty

    - don't use redirection because you kill one of this two domain that means lose money
    - small page rank means poor content or invisible for bots, therefor 1 and 2.

    best regards

    A) Where in that article does it state that a redirect from one domain to another is not "accepted"?

    B) In any case, do you even realise there is a difference between a 302 redirect, which this article discusses, and a 301 redirect, which the OP was talking about and to which I referred in my reply?
