    Maybe, maybe not. If I remember correctly mx2004 installs as macromedia while cs3 installs as adobe meaning settings likely will not be overwritten however any settings you have in mx2004 will need to be transferred over manually as CS3 likely doesn't even know mx2004 is installed on the system. You could try starting the installation of CS3. If it complains about mx2004 on the system then there you have it. Many of your questions are trivial (easy to answer) and can be answered by yourself if you just actually TRY them.

    I installed CS3 (full version) on a system that already had MX2004, and there have been no problems. The old MX still works fine and, as Aero says, the settings are not transferred.
