    Rollovers

Theres two methods (which i can think of) Javascript, and CSS what are the advantages and dis advantages of each?

Does Css preload images? how would i reserve the space so that the background would show?

A user can switch JavaScript off in his browser, but he cannot switch CSS off.

CSS does not preload images but you can get a similar effect. An image could contain 3 "sections" but the CSS could ensure only one part normally shows, and another part shows, for instance, for a rollover, and yet another part for a button click.
