    Help Needed

    Im a complete novice at web design and this is my very first attempt.
    Ive made an attempt to get a website up and running for my partner to promote her business.
    Problem is no search engine is finding it even though its been running for 6 weeks now.
    Ive been told its got to do with things called Meta Tags so i put these at the top of page.
    Heres what ive got anyway
    <head>
    <title>Worcester physio</title>
    <META NAME="DESCRIPTION" CONTENT="Mobile Physio in Worcestershire ">
    <META NAME="KEYWORDS" CONTENT="Mobile Physio physiotherapist Worcester Worcestershire Stroke Rehabilitation Sports Injury Home Visit Neurological Malvern Evesham Pershore Broadway Worcesterphysio.com">

    <link rel=stylesheet type="text/css" href="style.css">

    </head>

    There are only 4 pages and this is on the top of each one.
    The site is www.worcesterphysio.com
    Looking forward to recieving your replies

    Search engines don't like sites in framesets. Often it gives them bad ranking. Did you friend buy web hosting as well or did they just buy a domain name and stick with geocities?

    We bought the domain name and as we have an ISP account with BT we just hosted it with Geocities.

    Right but you need to set the domain's name servers to be the name servers of your ISP though I don't know you will be able to do that unless you ISP gives you the name servers.

    Look into a host that allows you to host a domain. www.freehostia.com allows you to do this. Your account should last the lifetime of your domain.

    Yes, using frames was a big mistake, I'd strongly recommend you rethink your approach to actually building the site.

    In addition the site has no links pointing at it so there is no way search engine's can find it.

    Further more, note that meta tags will have very little impact on the rankings of the site even if you do get it indexed.

    At the risk of being hammered for "self promotion" again I do think it would be useful if you read the short introductory guide to SEO I wrote for beginners which covers frames and links and some other stuff.

    Spam!!!

    ARGH!!! SHAMELESS SELF PROMOTION!!!

    No, actually really useful, Pennimus; since there are so many misconceptions about SEO, a couple of solid pointers from someone " in the know" will likely benefit a lot of people.
