    Server caching a webpage?

    Hey

    http://members.shaw.ca/ttc

The directory is empty. I've cleared out my temporary internet files a bazillion times. I've refreshed. I've shift+refreshed. I've asked other people to visit... there is still a page loading up when you access the directory.

What I wanna know... is there any tag or script I can stick on a page so that every time it's accessed, it will only show the most recent version, the last uploaded file to the directory?

Is there such a thing as the server "caching" webpages? I know google caches webpages so you can see version that have been written over. Can a server do this? I've always had this problem with the shaw.ca server.
    Tombo out.

    Another page

    Yep

Yep, the directory was empty when you visited.

I just checked te website now - it's finally bringing up a blank directory.

Why did it do that? How can I avoid it?

Empty now, but these two pages were there last night, Saturday.
This morning, I could access both for a bit, and then only the index, and now none. (Times are CST)
Why? Don't have a clue - no way Shaw caches the pages like Google.

Looks to me like the files were removed or renamed this morning. If you haven't done that, contact Shaw and ask for an explanation. (I kept some screen shots and one complete web page if they don't believe you - which I'll forward to you if you want.)

    Hope the problem is gone.

    Cheers....
