    product detail content?

Say that you make an e-commerce site selling electronics. For the product detail pages, where does the content generally come from?

is it o.k to use the info+images from the manufacturers sites?

I'd say that there would be no problem with that beause you are selling their products as a retailer and by letting you use that they are making you happy which would make it so that you would buy more stock from the wholesalers/manufacturers ..

You could ask them if you wanted as I'm sure they would have a contact link on their webpage but I would do exactly that, just copy the info and images from their site upload them and use them on mine.

I would ask them first. Most companies (particularly larger ones) have legal protection on logos, images, products etc. They usually specify how they can be used.

It's worth the time to double check.
