Anyway to make the source unchangeable to viewers?

Hello I was just wondering if there is a script or anything I can add to my page sources so that ppl can view the source but cannot make any changes to it?

I just built a webpage for my football team and I dont want ppl to be able to make changes to the source when they are viewing the source...! Is it possible and if so can some one plz point me in the right direction to get the code for this and post it in a reply so I can lock my pages??

    Be very much appreciated

I have tryed several scripts for locking my pages so far but they lock the enter page so you have to enter a pass word to view the page itself but that sucks if people dont know the password to access it LOL....i just wanna make the source viewable but unchangeable so they cant mess my site up or delete it...

TY for your time and yes I know I am a noob when it comes to this...

im assuming your talking about internet explorer, in which case more than likely notepad will open the source, there is no way to "lock" the source so people cannot change it.

but fret not my friend because no matter what they do to that text document of your source, they CANNOT change your webpage.

you have absolutely nothing to worry about.

So your saying that if they go to the website and view the source that even if they change it the effects arent saved to the website itself where as i would have to reupload a working scirpt to replace the page and make it functional again?

the changes they make dont affect my site ??? only hte changes i make myself in the file manager?

That is correct. When you are viewing the source code you are viewing the source code from the page that is in your browsers cache, on the machine viewing the page. If they change this and save it, they can ONLY save it to their own machine since the document they are viewing originates from their machine.

In other words, if what you fear could happen every page on the web would be defaced by some kid every minute of the day...
