Question How do I put streaming video in my site

I want to include streaming video in my site.

I'm planning on shooting the video with a digital cam corder.

    Then what?

    A video capture card?

    Software to encode it?

    What format should I use?

Any help would be most welcome!

    Thanks

I do believe your host and your users will need a very fast connection for any type of streaming...hardly any do. What you may be able to do in the meantime is to have a very small clip and show it in a small box on their screen. Sorry...Hope I haven't dashed the next Steven Speilberg.
Zoobie or not Zoobie...That is the problem.

Aside from the hosting aspects, here is what I do:

    1. Shoot the footage (obviously)
    2. I have a vcr conected to a Dazzle Digital Video Creator which is connected by usb to my computer
    3. Use Dazzle's software to digitize and edit movie
    4. then export (I usually export it as mpg or rm)

You can use any one of the Dazzle DVCs. They didn't seem to get great ratings from Circuit City, but I love mine! You can get a graphics card too, but they are usually a lot more expensive. I paid less than $200 for the DVC that I have.

    Making it stream

    Thanks for the replies.

Once I work out hosting, and use "Dazzle" to export it as an Mpeg file, how do I set it up to "stream" as apposed to downloading the file and then playing it?

Is anybody using streaming video who would let me see how they set it up?

    Thanks,
