    need script- borderless/buttonless browser window

I'm looking for a script that would cause my web page when called up to appear in a browser window that is

    - size-wise about 75% of the size of a full window
    - has no drop down menus ('file, 'edit', 'view', etc)
    - has no menu bar icons (home. refresh, favorites, etc)
    - no resizing options

I want to apply this to a page that I am using in one of those pop-under traffic programs so that when the surfer leaves their main browser page and sees my pop-under they are forced to deal with it (i.e. hopefully click a link on it)

I don't need the page to pop-under since the company sending me the traffic does that.

    Is this possible?

    Thank you.

Thanks but as I said I'm not looking fora pop-up or pop-under script. One of the pages on my site is already popping under people's browsers through this 'visitors per month traffic package' I purchased from a 3rd party.

I just want that page on my site to look as I described.

    Thanks

But it wouldn't be an existing window.

    Scenario:

    - person A, looking at browser window 1, clicks on link on her homepage and visits site A/page 1

    - person A clicks a link on site A/page 1 to go to another page (site A/page 2)

    - when person A exits site A/page 1 new browser window 2 pops-under browser window 1

I hope I didn't just confuse something that is simple

I've seen this done. I myself was person A and a pop-under window appeared with no way to close it or resize it and with no icons in the menu bar.

    Anybody else got an idea?

    Thanks redhead.

And so you think this is a good thing to do to visitors to your site? I have an idea, why not put 20 rolling flashing gifs of about 100kb each on your site and then create endless popups, popunders, popovers, poptarts and completely p!ss people off so they never visit again?

<rhetorical question>Why do so many "designers" believe that doing things that annoy the screaming **** out of people is a great way to attract more visitors to their sites when all logic, common sense and evidence suggests otherwise?</rhetorical question>

I knew I ran the risk of some know-it-all giving me grief for this. I've never done it before and I don't spam like most. I just would like to find the script, maybe tweak it so the 'victim' has one way out and they aren't completely miffed.

If a potential customer is forced to look at your message even for a nano second longer, and your message is compelling you may convert that person into some one who clicks on your link. If you make it too easy for them to get rid of your message then you've lost them. I agree that most anything that 'pops' at me uninvited can be annoying but having marketed on the internet for almost 5 years now I know some of the little things you can do to make the difference. I cerntainly don't pretend to know it all though...

Look, bottom line: I didn't ask for judgement. I've always known this forum to be used by professionals. I requested a script. That's all. If someone can point one out to me, great. If not I will look elsewhere.

you didn't ask for judgement, but posting this in a public forum automatically gives others the right to express their opinions on what you are saying. personally I think 'trapping' a guest as you described is UNETHICAL. I hope you do not find the answers you are looking for. Forcing someone to deal with your ad in the manner you suggest will just piss people off, it will not entice people to your product no matter how 'compelling' it is. Do business in an ethical manner and respect the guests viewing your ads and you willg et better responses. just my $.02

P.S. I could show you how to do this, but that would cause me to violate my own personal ethics code...

Ahhh, thanks for making the abuse personal ubtheboss. Suffice to say though you'll reap what you sow if you build pages to your ethics.

Why do I suspect someone called "ubtheboss" also thinks spam is a good thing?
