Now that will make my life even more intricate. As a web designer and developer I must test the web documents in all the browsers. Is it already very hard to have IE6, IE7, IE8 on the same Win7. With a Virtual Machine running XP under Win7 I solved to have IE6, but what to do now with IE9? IE9 provides IE8 mode (same as IE8 has an IE7 one), but I can not have IE7, 8 and 9 on the same time.

I guess I will renounce of using IE6 on VM, install IE7 on VM and IE9 (with IE8mode) straight on Win7

    Gee, what a mess!

Well, I used for several months something similar (I don't remember now the URL nor the application's name) which was able to perform a preview for all the main browsers and their latest 3-4 versions, but about 2 months ago people there pulled out IE from their tester because Microsoft asked them explicitly to do so. I expect the same for IETester for the future

No you don't. All versions of IE about 7 have backwards compatibility to version 7. You never have to change anything.

So, precisely: If I install IE9, shall I have Both IE8 and IE7 Modes installed? I was not able to find that information on the MS presentation, blah blah.. etc.

As a note: Who moved this Thread into the Geek News and Humour had indeed some brave sense of humour. It's about IE browsers, after all, ain't?

As another note: I appreciate that the owners of the Forum use the British spelling: humour, instead of the American one: humor

I moved it here since it didn't belong in the other forum. It is news after all and is on topic with web development.

I somehow doubt it, considering he was Greek

The IE9 RC is really well polished. Not good enough to convert, but still quite pretty. Now just to wait to see what Firefox has to offer, if it EVER updates.
