    Future web technologies

Here is a page using a lot of current and bleeding edge web technologies. Specifically, HTML, CSS, SVG, MathML, Scripting, DFXP, Ruby, and RDFa.

I don't know if anyone will get anything out of looking at it, or the markup, but it's nice to know it's there. Of course, it works in all the modern browsers so no version of IE will display it.

Actually, it only works on Firefox 3.1 betas with several extensions installed (for support of MathML and Ruby). It's far from "all the modern browsers".

That said, it's a kinda fun (and really whacky) demo. Still, what really interests me is how a lot of this stuff will be used in the real world in ways that nobody has thought of yet.

To fully display everything, you need the beta, but modern browsers will display most of that. FF will display MathML without extensions. Always has.

It would be really great if we started compiling web pages into binary form instead of all that textual markup crap.

One would also think that by now all email servers on the web would support 8 bits of data, and that we won't have to waste space and bandwidth by using base64 for attachments.

But I guess that is not what standards are for.
