Google to go OEM while IE8 slips into next year

Google's Chrome browser to exit beta in January.
Sundar Pichai, Google vice president, stated that the browser will exit beta in January.
While Microsoft lets IE8 deadline slip into next year.
Worse news for Microsoft and IE8:
Google, meanwhile, is exploring its distribution options and examining the various ways it might improve its market share. "We will probably do distribution deals,” Pinchai told The Times. "We could work with an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and have them ship computers with Chrome preinstalled."

In relation to the OEM deals, I often wondered why mozilla didn't follow that route.

So their browser will exit beta before gmail? That's pretty lame.

I can't wait for my kids to view Google the same way a lot of people look at Microsoft; as a soulless unfeeling conglomerate.

Google still have a soul! What about Android!

Microsoft are trying to eradicate Open Source, Google are working with it!
    They are not evil

I am not so sure. If I were to work with another organisation, it would be a joint thing. So in this instance, it would be : "My Brand Browser (powered by Mozilla)". I wouldn't need to create my completely separate entity unless I was trying to compete/eradicate the other. And I wouldn't need to refrain from mentioning the other team unless I was trying to 'get one over' on them.

I don't believe google is working with mozilla. taking advantage more like. which brings me nicely back to the soul/souless argument.
