    Google Chrome - Scheduled 9-02-08

    http://ogry.net/2008/09/01/google-chrome/

That's an article I wrote on the newest browser to be released by Google. It shows some serious promise with some great ideas.

    discuss.

They are just comparing/contrasting security models.

I was pretty excited about a new rendering engine, but it just uses Webkit. The new javascript engine should be interesting though, and I'm anxious to see how it compares to the new stuff both Mozilla and Apple are pumping out.

It's Open Source. Microsoft really aren't going to be happy about that...

    Good.

I love it when google socks it to Microsoft... It makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Hey maybe Microsoft will create a browser that works... one can only dream

Even if they did create a browser that was slightly good, which would be done by accident anyway, I would refuse to use it.

I hate Microsoft as a company. You know I respected them when I saw the history of them, but lost it all when I saw their 'business strategy'. Complete selfishness, is there really a need to eliminate all other competitors? They're still annoyingly going to dominate the market for a long time. It's complete selfishness.

The company received its 5,000th patent from the US Patent and Trademark Office in March 2006, and is currently approaching the 10,000 mark."

Microsoft Patents "Pg up" and "Pg down"

There's the patents, the websites that bend the truth:

Click here for severe annoyance, and to see how Windows is so much awesomer than any other OS

    I'm going to stop there...

    [/rant]

Anyway...The word Windows usually gets me angry.

That browser looks good, but it seems really minimal from those screenshots.

I hope Microsoft are watching that, I can only imagine their faces

Damn, I can't watch that...Don't have the plugins...I mean come on, making an open source browser, and you don't expect people with Linux to watch it?

And by the way, another edit, theres an article about what Mozilla think of Google Chrome here:

    Google Chrome is out!

    http://google.com/chrome

I like it quite a bit. A few features lacking, but it's what I'm on now. The JS engine is pretty cool, incognito, saved passwords and names... It's pretty sweet.

    Go forth and download!
