    USB port for your brain?

    http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/ptech/0...eut/index.html

Soon maybe we won't need keyboards or mice to control our computers. Just plug in your brain.....

    Good idea......Yes or No?

Dude, there is no possible way that Microsoft is a monopoly. Know why? Take all of Microsoft's games for example. EA writes games, Ubisoft writes games, all of these other companies write games. Microsoft makes Windows. It's widely used because people like it. But people have a choice (Linux is the main other choice). Microsoft's game system (which is awesome I must say), XBOX, how many people have PS2 or GameCube instead of it? What I'm basically saying is you have a choice, so Microsoft's not a monopoly.

Sorry guys, just had to get that out

Doesn't matter whether they are or aren't, what matters is whether they tried to monopolise a market

Alright guys get back on topic. This is not a "is microsoft evil" "bash microsoft/bill gates" thread.

    cg9com,

I think it would be a great idea. Imagine being able to draw graphics without using your hands. Or maybe write a letter by just thinking of the words you want to say. Or for the gaming people imagine being able to control your character in the game by simply thinking about it.

In areas of business and industry and science it could allow for efficiency of day to day tasks and endless possibiities.

    Lightbulb

    Also just to clarify:

I am not referring to installing USB ports in your head you silly people.

As it states in the article your brain waves would be read from sensors and then I say from there those signals would be sent to your computer via a USB port on your computer.

So in essence if you could wear a helmet of sorts that contains sensors and that helmet has a cord that goes to your computer and connects to your computer via something like a USB port.

it never surprises me that a human being can be so inherently evil, that not only do we deface our own god given bodies for the sake of our own misused, flawed technology, but we actually think its a good idea ....
many woes unto those who love technology this much, we may not see a downside now, but trust in ignorance.
