For 2), bandwidth, I would need to ask my web host, though my guess would be 50 gigs/month (with mod_gzip turned on). Diskspace, 200 megs and rising.

only 200 megs for the whole forum!! thats not that much at all... well its just text (and zips) in the databases, so it seems ok, but i would be thinking like at least 600 megs, maby even 3 gigs.

yah, about 50% of the old pit appears to be happy birthday from you, although its still on this website so I am bafled that its only 200 megs! (like this one http://www.codingforums.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/003429.html)

too bad I came here right after the pit was closed, never got to experience such a fun place

The 200 megs doesn't cover to the old forum site, just the actual database size of the current one. In fact, it's probably less than 200 megs, since that includes the backup file. That's another good thing about mysql powered forums- seperation between content and page formatting, translating into savings in disk space.

Hey, WA, For the titles, I think you should make it more exciting and make about 3-4 other ones...

    Example would be:

    CF guest 0-9 posts
    CF newcomer 10-49 posts
    CF regular 50-199 posts
    CF member 199-499 posts
    CF addict 500-749 posts
    CF connected 750-999 posts
    CF nut >1000 posts

Just makes it smaller for something to shoot for.

you can change the "perpage=10" in the url to any number to make the page longer, or just go page by page to see everyones post count.

Our old membership on WSAbstract made 5000 puny. A few of uf, myself included, had high 6000/low 7000 post counts, and Spookster had lie 9000 I think.
