    Forum JavaScript Error

When I click on the name of a poster to a thread (including myself) I receive a Javascript error message:-

    Line 716 (or 712)
    Char:1
    error: 'vBmenu is undefined'

    I am using IE6

Surprised that no-one has reported this yet!

I've actually gotten a few heads up on this privately. It's an elusive vBulletin drop down menu issue that goes away if I enable the menus as part of the site interface, but that's what I want to avoid (don't like the menus). I'll figure out another way sooner or later.

For that alone you should get an infraction already.

Just kidding! Sorry for being off topic, I just needed to get that off my chest, hehe.

You could edit the template to remove these calls.
    Code:
    <li class="thead" id="minicontact"><a href="#contactinfo">Send Message</a> <script type="text/javascript">vBmenu.register("minicontact");</script></li>

    						<li class="thead" id="userlists"><a href="profile.php?do=buddylist&amp;nojs=1">User Lists</a> <script type="text/javascript">vBmenu.register("userlists");</script></li>

Thanks Aero, I'll look into that. I want to make sure I disable just the portion that deals with the drop down menus, and nothing else, as vbmenu() as a function also invokes other features of VB, some used by CF right now. Or maybe I should just silence JS errors on CF.

how do you silence js errors come to think of it. One of my projects at current keeps throwing a js error up in IE but no other browser yet the stuff still works anyway I've been trying to supress it for ages since its a false error basically

That question is off topic for this forum. Post your problem in the javascript forum.

I thought this thread was going to be about:

    Code:
    randomizeContent is not defined
    http://codingforums.com/showthread.php
    Line 194
Which is only mildly annoying. I like my content in order anyway.
