Logged out in the middle of answering a topic

Hello, so here it goes, i was typing a reply that took my about 20 minutes (english is my secondary language), only to realize when clicking "Submit Reply" that i am no longer logged in, thus losing my message.

As the name refers, this is a coding forum, and i see no reason to not implement a system to prevent this to happen.

It could be simple, but i am not really into PHP : check if i am still logged in, THEN go and submit my post.

    Thank you.

If you check "Remember Me" when you log in it should keep you logged in until you clear your cookies.

Whether 'Remember Me' is checked, I don't recall an occasion where I have tried to send a message or a reply where I have been logged out before submitting it. Several times, I have taken about 20 minutes to do this and, unlike you, English is my first language.

So don't let 'spoken/written' language upset you. I love the diversity in languages/people

sorry not to be of more help with this.

if ur using firefox (like me ) then theres a simple fix...i simply click back on that tab to get back my reply then open up another tab in the same window for logging in. Then go back to the original reply tab and submit

If you're having problems with the cookie you could periodically click Preview while typing your message(or if you're using the quick reply hit "Go Advanced", and then Preview) and that should keep you logged in, too.

I remeber a while ago, som people saying that when they tried to submit a reply, that a similar thing happened to them. I haven't experienced it since then, which was before the site was hacked into.

But I learnt then that having typed the message - and before trying to post it, - I copy the text to my clipboard.

Just as Bazz said, I've now taken it upon myself to periodically copy all of the text I have written just in case, for some reason, it wasn't able to be posted. This was especially so for when quick replies weren't being posted everytime.

never heard of being logged out halfway through posting though. Weird.

I have actually been logged out automatically on several occasions, after having clicked "Remember Me". Why it does this, I have no idea, but I'll get over it.
