Can we please institute a thread-locking procedure for threads in the paid work forum when the original post is over "x" months old? (not the last post, since we sometimes get a lot of old threads bumped every couple of weeks or every month or so) I'm thinking 2-3 months at the very most would give plenty of wiggle room for people to get someone for their project.
If we aren't going to effectively moderate that forum (and I know, it's a lot of work for a volunteer) it would at least be nice not to have people bumping work requests from 6 months ago, last year, two years ago, or worse.
Any work request not resolved within two months, really, is likely to get no further productive posts after that amount of time. All we get lately (over the last year or so, as it seems to me) is spam from "outsource" farms and link-spamming for other websites' ["freelance" dirt-cheap Indian developer/slave labor rates] work forums. If we could at least keep that kind of trash limited to contemporary work requests it would be nice - and easier to moderate to get rid of these spammy, parasitic work leeches.
I think a lot of us appreciated being able to find the odd freelance job on this forum. That's increasingly difficult to do these days with this type of activity so common in the forum.
Anyway, I know this has been suggested before within the very threads in which the bumping occurs. I figured I would take a moment to make it a formal feedback request and see if it gets better attention. Can we finally do something about this?
