Make background image invisible to non-Apple devices

My customer wants a background image displayed in the div that contains a Flash piece for Apple users who can't see Flash-no problem. However, I'd like to make this image invisible to Flash enabled users so that when they navigate away from the page it doesn't momentarily show on the screen when the Flash piece disappears. Currently, I'm using CSS to display the background image. Thanks.

Well, I don't think this can be done with css only, but a simple .js function could do it easilly. Assuming that you use swfobject to embed the swf, you can add a code to make the no-flash-image invisible as soon as the movie gets added to the document.

I better get up to speed on the SWF OBJECT, the previous developer of the site used a different approach. Your no-flash-image technique appears much simpler. I'll give it a try. Thanks.
