Unhappy Create an intro as a Preloader

I'm new to this so I want to know if it is posible to create a very small intro that will play and loop while the main flash movie is loading and then when the main movie finish loading the intro will stop playing and fade to the main movie. Like I say in the beginning (IF IT IS POSIBLE). If it is, can anyone tell me where I can find a tutorial to do this? or better, can anyone put a small sample of this? thanks.

its very possible. Im a noob as well but i created a preloader for www.strivingforcairo.com just by using a tutorial on youtube. developphp.com is a great open source site. You can download the files used in the tutorials and get a better look at what is going on.

    good tutorial HERE:
you can use the code for the progress bar, but you wont have one the OnComplete function is what will send it to the target frame once it has loaded. You will probably get some errors of undefined objects if you dont take out what your not using.

    Still lost

Hi, I saw the web site that you say and it has a lot of tutorials... I manage to add the intro and the main flash into another flash movie. Now, what I can't find is how to load and play the intro.swf and while that is playing I need that the other movie content.swf is loading. The final product I need is that the intro last a bit while the other movie is loading but if it doesn't finish loading then the intro stop playing and disappear and show the remaining of the percentage of the content.swf Please if someone know how to do this send me an example please..

P.S. I don't want a preloader, that is why I want to use the intro as a preloader.

Well you are in a catch-22, you want to play another SWF while the main one loads, but it first has to load enough to understand that it should load the other SWF.

Some movies use animations as preloaders, but they are part of the main SWF.

Ok, I understand. But, let take for example that I want to build this great big BIG HUGE page in flash with a lot of stuff and I want to load different swf so the main page doesn't wait a lot of loading time. Can I create a small main screen (flash movie) with different swf that will load after the main screen loads? so that when somebody click on a link that have a swf movie clip it will not load at that moment? Thanks.

P.S. I'm new to flash so thanks for any help.

Ok, one question, can I load a movie in any giving time of the main swf without playing it and play it when I choose to? Or, can I load to the cache a movie so I can play it later?? Thanks

Yes, you can load a movie and then pause it immediately upon load. Check the loader and movieclip class documentation for some examples.
