    Detecting Flash...

I'm not sure where this goes, so I'm taking a guess...

I have a site that someone created in Flash. Works great. The owner (my client) has asked me to create a non-Flash version for people who don't have or don't want to use Flash. Of course it's less flashy (pun intended), but that's OK. What I need now is a way to give the user the option to enter the Flash or the non-Flash version of the site...

Is there some standard way to do this? I think there's a couple aspects to this:

    1. Give user option to enter either site
    2. If user enters Flash site and doesn't have Flash, tries to get them to install it (or sends them back to non-flash site)

Any help/pointers are appreciated... I'm just not a Flash guy. Thanks!

I have a post in my signature called Embed Flash Properly, and it will direct you to a method that makes it easy to serve up supplemental content. It can also try to detect, install, and upgrade Flash if needed. That is the best method that I've found.
