    How set document properties e.g. Title, Author - for display in Win folder view?

    Code:
    document.title = "Invoice 123";
    The above sets the 'Title' property, is there a property I can set for Author or Comment, etc.

    Background:
    I have Javascript that creates an Invoice - which prints OK.
    I also need the user to be able to SAVE it as a pdf - to a Windows Folder with the 'Title', 'Author' and 'Comments' fields set - i.e. so that they display in the 'detail' view (and are therefore sortable by these attributes).

    Ideally, I would like to create a custom property to store the 'Company' (the Invoice is being sent to) and to show this custom property/column in the folder view.

    Generally, the browser is decoupled from the operating system's file system to enforce security, so that mischievous webmasters don't access people's hard drives.

    If you want to offer users a PDF invoice by email, you might want to use XSL-FO, and if you do then you will want to install an xsl parser on your server to do it. FOP is an open source (i.e. free-to-use) parser, but the XSL-FO learning curve might cost you. Other solutions exist as well, so you might want to research options and select the one that suits you best.
