How long does it take to learn computer programming?

So I know next to nothing about computer programming but have always wanted to learn. I've just begun teaching myself HTML (which I know technically is not a programming language) and am enjoying it. I'm not sure if I would actually want to get a job in programming or if I would learn just for fun at this point. But either way I'm curious, how long would it take to become proficient in a programming language? I know everyone is different but I mean on average?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Each person is different, and learns at different speeds, you can take some short cuts, but eventually you will have to relearn concepts to progress further. Learning to program is an ever moving process, you will likely not learn everything a single language has to offer and all context in which it can be presented no matter how hard you try. The syntax of a programming language can study in a few days, its quirks in a couple more.

Coding is something that you learn after a lot of practice. But it takes time to become a proficient developer. Learning the syntax pf programming language is easy but it takes time to develop. If you are new to programming then it can take hours, weeks to months you cannot adequately develop your analytical, logical, and creative skills to solving programming problems by cramming for a few months You can develop small projects to improve your coding skills and if you run into an issue while application development then you cna use stackoverflow website or you can simply google it.
