    Lightbulb Yahoo Messenger Idea?

    Is there anyway to make a quick link in the toolbar to open a small window - make a clickable button that will add the symbol for a hiddon icon - Instead of typing it yourself or copying and pasiting it yourself? This just came to mind, but would be neat to have.

    I have never used Yahoo Messenger before, so this might be a shot in the dark. To add anything to a program, you will need a reshacker and some way to know what you are doing. You can get a reshacker here: http://www.users.on.net/johnson/resourcehacker/ As for how to go about doing it, I can't really tell you much about that. Try searching on google for a forum on yahoo hacking. If I have time, I'll see if I can scrounge one up.

    Didn't find much on google, but I remembered that I had a link to forums from when I was hacking aim. Ask away over here, maybe they will be able to answer your questions

    Hello Antoniohawk,
    I was hoping it would be a little easier - but I guess it's not. But still an interesting idea. I use yahoo messenger all the time and i dont think it right that they have all of the hidden imoticons on your computer and you cant use them unless you know what to type for it. like this one:
    > : D <
    It is animated to throw out its arms for a hug, really cute.
    Thanks for your help. Maybe sometime Yahoo will add these to their program so that the user can access them. There are 64 imoticons downloaded on your computer but they only let you use 35 in the program however if you know the codes to the rest the u can type them in and they will show up.
    thanks again.

    How about this?

    this is what i was talking about. just clik on the button and it copies it to clipboard and then you have to paste it in the message box. Of course, you have to have these pics on your computer. but it is easier to tell newbies to click on the button to copy and then right click and paste in messenger window.
    but can someone tell me how to keep the buttons all the same size?

    <FORM NAME="smiley">
    <img src="C:\Program

    Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Media/smileys/36.gif"

    width="18" height="18" border="0">
    <INPUT TYPE="BUTTON" NAME="chars" VALUE=":@)"

    onClick="document.smiley.chars.select();

    document.execCommand('Copy');">
    <br>
    <img src="C:\Program

    Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Media/smileys/37.gif"

    width="18" height="18" border="0">
    <INPUT TYPE="BUTTON" NAME="chars1" VALUE="3:-O"

    onClick="document.smiley.chars1.select();

    document.execCommand('Copy');">
    <br>
    <img src="C:\Program

    Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Media/smileys/38.gif"

    width="18" height="18" border="0">
    <INPUT TYPE="BUTTON" NAME="chars2" VALUE="|)"

    onClick="document.smiley.chars2.select();

    document.execCommand('Copy');">
    <br>
    <img src="C:\Program

    Files\Yahoo!\Messenger\Media/smileys/39.gif"

    width="18" height="18" border="0">
    <INPUT TYPE="BUTTON" NAME="chars3" VALUE="~:>"

    onClick="document.smiley.chars3.select();

    document.execCommand('Copy');">
    <br>
    </FORM>

    Make sure to wrap your code in the [ code] tags. As for width, you should be able to accomplish this with css and the width property.

    Except for the expected fact that the images don't show up for me, look good.
