Question void functions and sub routines

in C++ are void functions the same as sub routines in vb script, sense void functions do not return vales and neither do sub routines in vb?
would that be an equal comparison?

Well sort of, I mean, sub routines can return a value (by setting a variable with the same name as the sub no?) ...

I (as with most people) typically use void functions when you are using a pointer to something. Or of course you may be using void* which is different entirely.
