Question Email Client, SMS, Voice command

    Hi all

I'm trying write an email program in java which can send an SMS when an email is recieved. However, I dont know much about this like for example, do I need to have any authorisation from a telecommunications company to do this?

Also, I want it to operate on voice command(Writing, sending emails and all).Again, I really dont know much about it and what the scope of it is. So before I start my research and everything, I'd appreciate it if anyone can give me any idea or just a point in the right direction.

    Thanks in advance

Like you, I don't know much about this. But it sounds like fun!

But first off, where will this Java program reside? Do you plan on having this on a computer (like a PC)? Or is this to reside on a cell phone, PDA, ....?

    I'm assuming PC.

Check out this link for SMS using Java:

Also as far as voice commands, I would think that you'd need to get a module of a speech recognition program for developers.

I know that Dragon Simply Speaking offers something like this, however I've never used it myself:

    IBM's also got something:

You might need a particular version of the JDK, and you'd also have to figure out how to interact with your mail client so as to fire your sendSMS() when the email arrived event fires.

    Good luck with it,
    Sadiq.
