How did you get yourself into this mess? People don't stand in front of computers and 'program' them anymore. That went out of style long ago. They write programs in the form of files written in a large variety of programming languages. Anyone who writes computer code is in a sense a 'programer'. The files are programs if they are instructions that the computer can execute. Then they are called 'binary executable'.

Oh, we almost never stood in front of them.

We usually sat down while pushing all those little levers and buttons.

(Yeah, I've been around that long.)

Or has hopes of being one. If the "computer code" doesn't work--which seems to be the case in too many of the posts we see here--then those hopes may not be fulfilled.

Ummm... Okay, and so does that mean that code written in JavaScript is not a program? Because JavaScript code is certainly not "instructions that the computer can execute." It can be argued that the same is true of Java programs and of all of the Microsoft ".Net" languages, since those are all compiled into an intermediate form that is not a "binary executable".

I know, I know. I'm being my namesake self: an old pedant. Still, I think your definitions might be misleading to somebody unfamiliar with programming.

It is not a good idea to expose your email address in a public forum. The bots will soon find it and bombard you with spam.

All the code given in this post has been tested and is intended to address the question asked.
Unless stated otherwise it is not just a demonstration.
