new to programming
Hi. I never wrote a line of code in my life. Can any of you tell me of some sites or books that I can read to learn programming. Whats the best way to learn. Im trying to get into a computer information systems college course. What are your thoughts?
not really looking for web development. Looking to learn Pseudo code C C++ C# LISP Python etc. But I want to learn the fundamentals of programming before I dive right into learning a language if that makes sense. Whats a good way to learn programming on the internet?
I use following five web site to lern programming. Hope they will be helpful for you also.
5. flashcardmachine.com
I see other folks have provided some useful tutorials, below are some additional resources I can suggest.
Nazirbhatt, Thanks for sharing to all; I will keep in mind, great job.
Computer information systems generally deals with the web development side of programming. However if you want to get started programming I think C++ or Java would be a good start. These give a good foundation for OOP.
As for books, I've been using this book in the classroom, it's about three semesters long of material and can get you pretty deep into Java. There is a book by the same author and very similar to material for C++ as well. Hardly anything changes each edition so don't waste your money on the newer versions.
this should give you basic undestanding of perl.
it's not a dificult language and in most cases you'll be able to do everything you'll need using it.
just to give you an example how easy it is: some time ago i was experimenting with google's speach recognition. i wanted my ubuntu server to react on voice commands.
so i wrote a script in perl to establish connection with remote server, listen, encode audio, send it to google, get back text, and do what i tell it to do. everything making sure connection is always open to save time on negotiation.
it took me maybe 3 hours and that was my first contact with perl.
also perl's syntax is similar to C so it should be easy for you to make a transition to some "more serious" language when you'll need to.
java i wouldn't recommend. read this: http://www.jwz.org/doc/java.html ;)
As per my idea, Simply if you can easily learn php language so, you can join classis of programming or developing and if you want to work hard so, you can learn more own by google search engine.
There are two of websites designed to help you learn various languages and aspects of programming as well.
First, decide that which programming language you want to learn. After that go through tutorial which are available online.
These give a good foundation for OOP.
Everything is possible to learn..We can search on google what we want to learn..
go to w3school.com
or for books use coding books by d.s.malik
or by dietel and dietel
If you are new for programing then, there are so many source available on Internet. I think w3school.com is one of the best site to learn all about programming for different types of languages.
