    Question 500 (Internal Server) Error

I have a website that's being hosted by Godaddy, and I recently upgraded from IIS6 to IIS7. From the moment I upgraded, the contact form (which people fill out to contact me) no longer works properly. Now I get this error message: 500 (Internal Server) Error. The people at Godaddy claim that it's not an error on their side, but that I need to change something in the code of my contact page instead. I can't seem to figure out what I need to change though..

A 500 Internal Server Error can be caused by many things, including but not limited to invalid permissions, invalid ownership, bad lines in your php.ini or .htaccess file, invalid requests in the script, and others not mentioned here. Typically this is not a problem with the server itself, and most always can be resolved by modifying something in your site's configuration.

The 500 error is a generic error message so not terribly helpful at identifying the problem. Do you see any more specific error messages in the server log files? Also would be helpful to know what language you are using for your contact form. Likely ASP or PHP? In either case this topic should be moved to the forum for that language.
