    Question Timing Code

I'm fairly new to computer programing but i'm looking to find a code that would tell an object (i.e. piston or set of pistons) to fire every so often. How would I go about either building a program for that or getting a program that would do that for me? I would also need to be able to set the speed of the firing of each piston (i.e. piston 1 every 4 seconds and piston 2 every .15 seconds up to 9 pistons at different timeings) Any information you guys/girls are able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

If you're wanting to use this with real machinery (rather than some simulation), you might be best served looking at PLCs (programmable logic controllers). Simple boxes were fairly cheap a few years ago when I last did anything with them. The programming in some cases can be simply a matter of drag-and-drop.
