It's your final year project and you don't know the basics of getting started?
You may want to post this in paid offers, and ask for a tutor.
Go to Sun's Java website and get the latest java SDK. It comes with NetBeans IDE. You can either use that, or if you prefer, you can go download Eclipse as your IDE.
You've got one heck of a road lined with sleepless nights and coffee coming up if you don't even have tools to develop yet.

If this post contains any code, I may or may not have tested it. It's probably just example code, so no getting knickers in a bunch over a typo, OK? If it doesn't have basic error checking in it, such as object detection or checking if objects are null before using them, put that in there. I'm giving examples, not typing up your whole app for you. You run code at your own risk.

If by mobile you mean mobile phones then I suggest you download and install the following.

    JDK 6 Update 3 with NetBeans 5.5.1

    NetBeans Mobility Pack 5.5.1 Download

Sun Java Wireless Toolkit 2.5.2 for CLDC

If you don't like Netbeans then you could download the JDK 6 Update 3 without Netbeans, the Wireless Toolkit 2.5.2 for CLDC and use Eclipse (http://www.eclipse.org/) and EclipseME (http://www.eclipseme.org/).

That hopefully will get you started.
