    need help : (

    Well it isn't any huge type of programming or aything like that but I need help with a simple little thing. I'm a newbie so be nice.

    Straight to the point, I need a script, or batch file that will copy one folder from my C: drive to a folder on my D: drive... simple as pie and I got that part to work.

    Now I need to set it so that the folder from the C: is copied into a folder on the D: named according to the date it was copied.

    IE:

    C:\Folder --> D:\1-1-03
    C:\Folder --> D:\1-2-03
    etc...

    The C:\Folder will be copied probably nightly, and this is on 98.

    Please help!
    Thanks,
    Eros

    you could use a dos command called Xcopy, if you drop to a DOS prompt and type ' xcopy /?' you should be able to see its help file :>

    an example of this might be;

    xcopy c:\myfolder d:\myfolderbackup\ /I /K /H

    the /I at the end means that if the destination directory doesnt exist then if you are copying more than one file it assumes that its a directory that you are copying.

    the /K means that it copies all the attributes that were set for the files on the source to the files in the destination.

    the /H copies system and hidden files also.

    hope that helps slightly

    Cheers,
    DaZ
