    Question MySQL and C/C++

    Hi,

    Can anyone point me in the direction of some information explaining how to open and close a connection to a MySQL database and submit queries from within C/C++? I know it can be done using system calls, but this is pretty clunky; I'm looking for a better solution (perhaps linking to a shared library that is part of the standard MySQL build, or something like that).

    *** Please note that I am not looking for a .NET solution! I have found that, but I don't use .NET, I'm using Red Hat Linux 9.0.

    Any info gratefully received.

    Thanks,
    Mike.

    If you want a more OOP based interface, I'd recommend: http://tangentsoft.net/mysql++/
