Cool [tut]How to stop restart reminders.

When you 'update' your computer with the windows auto update installer annoyance, it asked you if you want to reset..You click 'later'... 5 minutes later 'YOU GOTTA RESET NOW NOW NOW'. 'I DON'T WANT TO RESET NOW YOU PIECE OF ****!' 'RESET NOW NOW NOW NOW '. Here's how to stop it.

    1. start --> run || *windows button* + R

    2. Type services.msc

    3. It's in alphabetical order, find the automatic updates and Right click --> stop.

    *Accepts hugs and flowers*

That's neat, it could have been better if you posted it on Tips, Tools and Links section so it stays up forever.
But the only person I'm hugging and giving flowers to is the one that showed me how to get rid of dumprep:

Sorry for bringing an almost month old thread back, but in times like tonight it's when this becomes handy.

80% done downloading fedora and for some stupid reason I chose to download it without any download manager. So, some unusually high activity on the computer wakes me up(oh yes, this one can get loud). Five seconds later I see a small window pop up requesting to reset computer or it would automatically do it in 30 seconds

So stridox, you are a life saver
Now I can go back to sleep

so are you honestly going to tell me that you were able to wake up, run to the computer search this old post and type all that in in 30 seconds. or did you remember it? Because I know I wont.

Heres an easy one to remember.

Start > run or [WIN] + R [WIN] = windows key
    shutdown -a

    DONE!!

    a stands for abort.
works alot better when you only have 10 seconds.

I was already awake, and I hear the computer go high on activity so I thought the download was done, but when I looked, it was about to reboot. I didn't need to remember it, windows did that for me (it remembers las run command). But it wouldn't have been there without this post.

Why didn't you use the torrent network?
I'm not sure if this was any help, but I hope it didn't make you stupider.

Experience is something you get just after you really need it.
